VBAC - Vaginal Birth After Caesarean section.
Many women have a successful VBAC after having one or more caesareans. There is a small risk that the scar from your previous caesarean could open in a subsequent pregnancy / labour. This is called a uterine dehiscence or rupture.
Dehiscence, and or rupture, affects only one in 200 women attempting a VBAC after one caesarean section. There are other factors that can increase or decrease this risk. Research now contradicts the historical belief of "once a caesarean, always a caesarean" is no longer the case. Learn more about your options by joining one of our VBAC classes. ![]()
